6. Medical and Health Information

Rx & Reality provides educational information and digital products. The website is not a patient portal and is not intended to collect or store medical records.

Please do not submit:

  • Medical records
  • Laboratory reports
  • Insurance information
  • Social Security numbers
  • Detailed private health histories
  • Photographs of medical conditions
  • Requests for a diagnosis
  • Urgent medical questions

The contact form and email address are for general business, purchase, and product access questions.

Information submitted through the website does not create a doctor patient relationship with Dr. Emily Triana Marx or any other healthcare professional.

Do not use this website or email for a medical emergency. Contact emergency services or an appropriate healthcare professional.

7. Cookies and Website Analytics

When you first visit our website, you will see a cookie banner with three choices: Accept all, Reject non-essential, and Manage preferences. We sort cookies and similar first-party storage into three categories:

  • Necessary — always active and cannot be disabled. Used to operate the website, including navigation, the Kit email signup form, Stripe checkout buttons, purchase confirmation, purchase email delivery, and PDF or download access.
  • Analytics — optional and off until you turn it on. Controls Google Analytics (GA4), which helps us understand how visitors use the website.
  • Advertising — optional and off until you turn it on. Controls Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel, which we use to measure the performance of our advertising on our own marketing pages.

Analytics and Advertising cookies remain off unless you choose to turn them on. Choosing Accept all turns both on. Choosing Reject non-essential keeps both off. Necessary site functions, including checkout and purchase delivery, work the same way whether or not you accept optional cookies.

Your choice is saved in a first-party browser storage entry named rxr_consent_v1, which records only whether Analytics and Advertising are on or off and when you made that choice. It does not contain your name, email address, health information, or anything you typed into a form. This entry expires 180 days after your most recent choice; after it expires, the cookie banner will appear again the next time you visit. Changing your preferences at any time starts a new 180-day period.

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the website footer, available on every page. Withdrawing consent clears the related optional browser storage, where technically possible, and reloads the page so the associated optional service stops running.

When you visit our website through a tagged marketing link, we may collect campaign information contained in that link, such as the source, medium, campaign, and content identifiers. We use this information to understand how visitors reach our website and which marketing efforts lead to purchases. We may temporarily store this campaign information in your browser for the duration of your browsing session so that the original marketing source can be preserved through checkout. This campaign information does not include your name, email address, health information, or other personal profile information.

Meta Pixel and TikTok Pixel load only on our public marketing pages (the homepage, The Pocket Rheumatologist sales page, and the Freebies page), never on the purchase confirmation page, download pages, or legal pages, except for a single, purpose-built exception: after a purchase is verified as successfully paid, we briefly load the pixel code to record that one purchase for advertising measurement, without loading the pixel's general page-tracking. That verified-purchase event uses only the amount paid, the currency, a generic product identifier, and a privacy-safe identifier derived mathematically from your transaction — never your name, email address, health information, or the underlying Stripe transaction identifier itself, which is never stored in your browser or sent to any analytics or advertising platform. To prevent the same purchase from being counted twice (for example if you refresh the confirmation page or revisit it later), we keep a record of that privacy-safe identifier in first-party browser storage for 180 days.

We do not send your name, email address, phone number, form contents, symptoms, diagnoses, medical conditions, or other health information to Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or TikTok Pixel. None of these optional technologies loads before you grant the corresponding consent.

You may also control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect how parts of the website function.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Deliver products and services
  • Maintain purchase and transaction records
  • Respond to questions
  • Meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Prevent fraud
  • Enforce our agreements

The length of time information is retained may vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected.

9. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect personal information.

However, no website, email service, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Please do not send sensitive medical, financial, or identifying information through ordinary email or the website contact form.

10. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You may:

  • Unsubscribe from marketing emails
  • Request that inaccurate contact information be corrected
  • Request information about personal data we maintain about you
  • Request deletion of certain information, subject to legal and business record requirements

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have additional privacy rights.

To submit a request, email info@rxandreality.com.

We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. We may retain information when necessary for legal, tax, fraud prevention, security, or transaction record purposes.

Rx & Reality does not intend to sell sensitive personal information.

11. Children’s Privacy

The website is not directed to children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website without appropriate parental consent.

If you believe a child under 13 has submitted personal information, contact us at info@rxandreality.com.

12. Third Party Links

The website may contain links to websites, social media platforms, or services operated by third parties.

We do not control and are not responsible for the privacy, security, or content practices of those third parties. Review their policies before submitting information or completing a transaction with them.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our website, services, providers, or legal obligations change.

The revised policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
